In order to send direct mail directly through the platform, you must have a Stannp API key. Stannp are a provider of printed direct mail, that are available in a variety of sizes and shapes, such as A4 letters, A5 Postcards, and even greetings cards.

Setting up the Stannp API key (the connection between Stannp and PSEngine)

Simply head on over to the Stannp API key page and copy red code under API key. Swap back to PSEngine and select Stannp Accounts under the Config drop-down.

Once you are on the Stannp Config page you will be presented with the boxes below. Account name can be any name you choose to associate with this key. The API key field is where we need to paste the code we just retrieved from Stannp.

You can now send your direct mail pieces from within the software. To do this, you must have set up your templates already from within the Stannp platform. A full video guide on how to navigate and use Stannp can be found on the Stannp FAQ.

Using PSEngine Wildcards to merge data:

PSEngine uses a wildcard system to connect data from our platform to the templates you've produced inside the Stannp system.

A full detailed run-through of Wildcards can be found in the video below:

Using the Free Text Editor with Stannp:

The Free Text Editor is a system available for both Stannp and our alternative handwritten mail service LetterBot.

If you are looking to send a quick unique letter then the Free Text Editor allows you to create the text of a letter very quickly and simply, without you having to create a Stannp template for one or two particular letters.

Free Text letters can also be saved as templates for future use, ideal if you find yourself writing more than one identical letter.

To access the Free Template Editor you simply need to visit any mail screen,

This will bring up a page with pre written templates for you to copy into your Stannp campaigns, with basic wildcards included. Simply select your example and click load.

Make sure to set the Mail Service (in red) to Stannp, and then click the Free Text Editor (in orange).

You should now have the Free Text editor with a variety of options in-front of you.

On the above screen options we can use the Template drop-down to select one of three Stannp example templates. When you modify one of these to our own designs and specifications you can click the Save button in green, you will be prompted to give the template a name and from that point onwards you can select it as a template.

In a similar process to saving a template, you can select a template of your own creation and click Delete to remove it from your template library.

Once you are happy with your template text, click the upload button in the bottom right hand corner in the green box to add a custom background image to your template. This background image should be the scale and resolution to support the A4 paper size.

Now that the letter has been authored and the background selected we simply click the close button on the top right of the template Window. PSEngine will them prompt you to confirm you wish to use this completed template, click yes to proceed.

You are now ready to send your letter/letters generated in the Free Template Editor.
